EARLY JUNE AND THE FLOWERS ARE COMING – PART 2

At this time of year, with temperatures increasing and the day length still getting longer, there is a sudden burst of growth on everything and it seems hard to keep up with what’s happening in the garden. Flowers and lushness abound!

I had no trouble stopping for a while today though to watch the busy wren parents feeding the demanding babies. I’m happy they are finding plenty of bugs to eat in my garden. Just one more good reason not to use chemicals!

Some bouquets from last weekend

Now that the flowers are coming you might be wondering how and where you can get my flowers. Read on to find out more!

WAYS TO GET MY FLOWERS

  • CUSTOM ORDERS

As I am not like a traditional florist shop with a cooler full of flowers, I need a minimum of 24 hours notice to fulfill your order. I pick the best flowers just for your order and then like to prepare and condition them properly. This means they need to sit in a cool place in deep water and get a good drink before I arrange them. This also helps them to last longer too.

I am happy to make just what you want whether it is a small bouquet, a traditional vase arrangement or something using a special vase that you have.

Contact me and we will work out what you need.

  • AT THE OTTAWA ORGANIC FARMERS MARKET

On the following dates you can find my flowers at the Ottawa Organic Farmers Market from 10 – 12 at Riverside United Church at 3191 Riverside Drive.

June 18, July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1

You can order ahead here Ottawa Organic Farmers Market Order Form for pick up at the market or take you chance on the day.

  • FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM OR ON MY BLOG

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see in posts and stories the flowers I have and what I’m making. Some times I’ll post flowers ready for pick up. My blog will include a ‘this weeks flowers’ section.

  • GROWERS CHOICE BUCKETS AND ARRANGING LESSONS

Buy a bucket of my signature mix of fresh flowers, grasses and foliage to arrange yourself. This will make at least 2 lovely lush bouquets or arrangements. If you don’t know where to start and need some hints and instructions then add on a 1:1 lesson where we will spend an hour together answering your questions and exploring the mechanics and principles of arranging.

  • GARDEN TOURS

I will be adding dates for garden tours soon. If you have wondered where and how I grow my flowers here is your chance to find out. See how I manage my ‘no dig’ pesticide and chemical free garden to produce cut flowers in a small space. I will also have bouquets and jars of flowers available to purchase.

  • OTHER POP UPS AND MARKETS

From time to time I may pop up at other markets and events. I’ll be sure to let you know on the blog and Instagram.

I will be adding these options to my website and order form soon so check back later to find out more.

And the last word goes to the first dahlia to flower!

  1. I think you have covered everything- shame I can’t just pop round to have a I-I tuition hour.
    Well done xx
