Mother’s Day and More

We are all still waiting in anticipation of spring finally arriving. The flowers are telling me that growth is easily delayed by 2 weeks compared to the last 2 years. This is one of the reasons that I do not offer fresh flowers for Mother’s Day – we can never tell from year to year what will be available.

For me the signal for the garden finally waking up is the forsythia blooming.

I like to roll with the seasons and not force things along. But even as I say that I have my seedlings that I started inside bursting at the seams to get out in the garden beds. As the weather improves there will be lots to do and get ready for.

I will be having a seedling sale again this year. Date to be announced but probably end of May or early June.

I had such a great time at my last pop up at Plant & Curio studio on Heron Road that I will be back there on Mother’s Day Sunday May 8 from 11 – 4.

I’ve been busy making dried flower wearables like this flower crown, and hair slides, flower bracelets, flower badges, boutonnières and more. Just perfect for saying ‘You’re the best!’ Please note that these will only be available at my Mother’s Day pop up.

Do you have someone in your life to honour on Mother’s Day? Maybe someone who has everything and you never know what to get them? Or are you thinking of something special for yourself? I certainly felt like a flower queen in my crown!

Save this blog post and share it with that last minute shopper you know will be looking for something. Or just save the date for yourself and pop by early for the best selection! And if dried flowers aren’t your thing then there will be fresh flowers from Ganden Gardens and all the usual lush green houseplant selection and perfect pots from Plant & Curio. What more could anyone want?

Set up from my last pop up at Plant & Curio

Looking forward to seeing you there. But for now it’s back to the garden and enjoying this lovely sunny day!
